ANA G. FEMENÍA

Ana is a specialist in evaluation of programs and public policy. Doctor in Political Science and Sociology and Master in Evaluation and European Studies.

HER EXPERIENCE

For over a decade she developed her professional career at the Economic and Social Council of Spain, an institution of social dialogue whose mission is to evaluate socio-economic policies of the government from the point of view of social actors.

 

In 2004 she started to work for the International Labour Organization as Cooperation Technical Assistant for a project aimed at promoting the social dialogue in Latin America. She resided in Peru for 3 years, accomplishing numerous professional missions across the region. During this phase, she developed a wide knowledge of the United Nations system and she familiarized herself with the importance of evaluating development projects.

Ana has accomplished numerous complex evaluations for The European Union and The United Nations

Since then she has led researches and taught at the Institute for Development and Cooperation of the Complutense University and developed her professional activity focusing on consultancy in evaluation.

 

She undertook complex evaluations for diverse Directorate Generals of the European Commission and the International Labour Organization. In addition to this she has accomplished technical assistance and planning missions, monitoring and evaluation for private entities, and non-profit organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

“I love to evaluate in an international context because I have always been curious for that which is different, exploring the unknown, letting myself be dazzled by what is new. The effort it takes to understand the context wherein I will be evaluating, is a strong stimulus for me to develop my professional activity“.

What inspires me most is the commitment and passion of all those individuals that make every project come true.

For the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to travel extensively through Latin America, Europe and Africa as part of my professional career, and additionally I have resided in South America for numerous years. The direct knowledge that is produced through immersion in the field has supported me enormously for the activities that I develop now.
